So, my blind date was great! There’s definitely a life long love in the stars for us!
My bookish blind date turned out to be 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson, which I ADORED!
I even loved my version of the book which you can see on the picture below. A nice paperback with grey pages that smell like, well, book mostly. Those kind of books you can fold and won’t have to feel guilty about, you guys know what I mean!
The book is about Ginny who is a little bit of a grey mouse. After her long lost aunt dies Ginny receives 13 little blue envelopes with assignments.
First she must travel to Europe where she finds out why her aunt moved away and never cared to send a message back home. Also she meets her first love; Keith in the cutest way possible: she buys all the tickets to his self written show about Starbucks (hilarious), which is also part of an assignment.
Apart from how much I like to be sucked into the story from page 1, I was also really font of the fact there were not that many characters I had to deal with. Ginny’s parents are mentioned once in the whole book, so I really got to know the main characters.
Best part of the whole dating a book thing; you don’t know what you can expect, and this book has a sequel! The last little blue envelope; I can’t wait! It’s so nice to have a novel you know is easy to read, and you can just dive into those pages! So I will definitely pick this one up when I am in between more difficult to read books.
When you have the opportunity to date a book; please do!

Oh wait! There was one tiny disadvantage: Ginny also visits Amsterdam, where I was born and raised, and she describes it as dirty, which was kind of hard on me, but I will manage 😉
